This is an explainer video on how to use Microsoft Teams for video calls to support a hybrid approach to meetings during the week for a non-profit organization.

Purpose

The video is used to train new users when onboarding them to the platform as the church leadership implemented a hybrid approach to meetings during the week. It explains how to login and start a video call. Implementing MS Teams for video calls increased meeting participation and collaboration and decreased travel time, saving money for the organization.

Process

I created the explainer video following a storyboard created in advance. I used screenshots from the MS Teams web version and created a style guide with the MS Teams color palette. I used the Powtoon cloud video editing platform to create the video while editing and customizing an existing template. The video is hosted on YouTube, and it includes multimedia principles such as signaling and segmenting, guiding the learner with animated arrows, and allowing the learner to pause, play, and control the playback speed.
